Anti Bullying Week | 19-25 November

Unfortunately, many readers of this site will at some point in their lives have experienced bullying – whether it was online, in school or in their local community.

BeatBullying works with many young people that suffer the indignity and trauma of homophobic bullying.  Young people who are questioning their sexuality or identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered are often the targets of harassment and bullying behaviours from their peers.

This week (19 - 25 November) is national Anti Bullying Week and BeatBullying is on a mission to make all bullying unacceptable.  In particular, our LGBT programme has been setup to provide both offline and online support to young people.  Thanks to funding from Children in Need we have already been able to train almost 200 specialist LGBT CyberMentors who provide real-time support for young people who want to discuss issues relating to their sexuality or gender identity.

"We’re already reaching and supporting thousands of young people – but we need your help to spread the word and make sure every young LGBT person has someone to turn to."
