Hello!
I thought I would give you an update on what I've been doing over the past couple of weeks to spread the word about rucomingout. Never did I imagine that so many people would connect with the project and offer so much support. I knew there was a need for a website like this but I had no idea the sheer number of people who would find it useful. When I first had the idea for rucomingout I guess I didn't really think about the scope of the project and how much I wanted it grow in the future. After a few weeks of receiving feedback on the project I now know that there's a future for rucomingout and that future is bright!
Last Tuesday (27th March) I went to London to meet with Attitude magazine (one of the UK's leading gay men's lifestyle magazines) to talk about the project, the website and the history of how it all came about. You will be able to read this feature in June's Issue of the magazine which will be published at the start of May.
You may have noticed that UK soul star Beverley Knight contributed a story of support to our first month's STORIES page. As you read this blog a few other well known faces are putting pen to paper (or finger tips to keyboard) to write their stories for inclusion on the rucomingout website. I won't ruin the surprise by telling you who they are now (I want to make sure I have their submission in my inbox first!) but I'm sure we will all enjoy reading their accounts.
I'm hoping to launch a new page of stories every month and continue to add to that page as the month goes on. Sometimes this won't be possible (I do have a full time day job as well!) but I will always try my best. If you have submitted a story please be patient!
Thank you to everyone who has shown support for the project by tweeting, Facebooking, emailing or talking about it. I appreciate all of the positive comments and suggestions.
